Soy milk is a nutritious beverage made from soy beans and water. Having tasted homemade soy milk, one would no longer be satisfied with commercial offerings.

Ingredients

300 grams soy bean

1 1/2 liters water

Preparation

  1. Soak soy bean in water overnight in refrigerator.

Steps

  1. Blend soaked soy bean with a portion of water.

  2. Pour blended soy bean into nut milk bag.

  3. Wash leftover soy bean in blender with remaining water. Add to nut milk bag.

  4. Strain liquid from nut milk bag into a pot.

  5. Boil raw soy milk in pot under high heat. Stir nonstop to prevent scorching and sediment from sticking to pot.

  6. Reduce to medium heat as soon as foam starts to rise. Monitor closely as foam boils over within two seconds.

  7. Keep boiling for two minutes.

  8. Drink while hot or refrigerate and savor chilled.

Notes

  1. The amount of soy milk is ninety to a hundred percent of the amount of water added to the soaked soy bean, depending on straining.
