Miso-roasted Sablefish

Sablefish is a delicious source of protein and omega-3 fatty acid. In this recipe, its velvety texture combines with miso to make for a satisfying umami treat.

Ingredients

1 1/4 pounds sablefish

1 tablespoon miso

If available:

1 tablespoon mirin

1 tablespoon sake

Steps

  1. Mix miso, mirin, and sake.

  2. Paint miso mixture onto the top of sablefish.

  3. Roast sablefish at 150°C (300°F) until internal temperature reaches 55°C (130°F). About thirty minutes.

  4. Let sablefish sit in oven for five minutes such that its internal temperature would rise to 60°C (140°F). This ensures safe consumption.

  5. Serve right away.

Notes

  1. High in omega-3 fatty acids, sablefish needs to be cooked thoroughtly to reveal its softness and smoothness. It is best heated to an internal temperature around 60°C (140°F).
