Kimchee Jjigae

Kimchee-jjigae is a stew-like Korean dish, made with kimchee and other ingredients. It is one of the most common stews in Korean cuisine.
Ingredients
12 ounces kimchi
24 ounces tofu
If available:
1 onion
1 bulb garlic
6 ounces shiitake mushroom
1 bunch scallion
3 tablespoons mirin
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame seed
Steps
Use a pot that can hold all the ingredients.
Cut tofu into 1-cm to 1/2-inch slices. Add to pot. Cook under medium-high heat with lid covered.
While tofu are cooking, cut onion into 1-cm to 1/2-inch pieces. Put into pot and stir, reduce heat to medium when mixture bubbles.
Mince garlic and add to mixture.
Slice shiitake mushroom into pieces and add to pot. Stir.
Add mirin and soy sauce. Cook under simmer for 15 miniutes covered.
Add kimchi and stir.
Cut green onion into narrow rings. Put into pot. Stir and turn off stove.
Sprink sesame seed as garnish.
Serve immediately.
