Guacamole is an avocado-based dip originated in Mexico. It is a healthy snack because of the nutritious avocado.

Ingredients

1 avocado

1 tomato

If available:

2 cloves garlic

1 pinch salt

1/2 lime

Steps

  1. Mash avocado with a spoon in a serving bowl.

  2. Dice tomato and add to serving bowl.

  3. Mince garlic and add to serving bowl.

  4. Sprinkle salt.

  5. Mix well with spoon.

  6. Squeeze juice from lime into mixture.

  7. Mix to incorporate lime juice evenly.

  8. Enjoy with chips or bread.

Notes

  1. Ripe avocados make the best guacamole. They are soft but not mushy under thumb pressure.
